Moviemaking is a complex affair involving many moving parts. Thus, there are plenty opportunities for something to go wrong. That is why it is paramount for the film director to plan the making of his or her picture. Least not important is the orchestration of the visuals. How you show something is no less important than what you show. Yet, the cryptical language of film, or film speak, can be mind boggling. What many filmmakers need is an understanding of how to speak cinematically. Hence, the goal of this course, Film Speak is to teach the filmmaker how to interpret the power of visual language in order to visually plan narrative based shows for the screen, television and the internet. This course will give the developing director the important visual skills necessary to become a successful filmmaker.
